Broccoli Salad

This is a delightful broccoli salad recipe that is nutty, fruity and very delicious. It’s perfect for a family picnic or to take to a potluck.
Ingredients -
1 Pound Thick Cut Bacon
4 Cups Fresh Broccoli Florets
5 Green Onions, chopped
1/4 Cup Sunflower Seeds
1/4 Cup Golden Raisins
1 Cup Mayonnaise
1/2 Cup White Sugar
6 Tablespoons Red Wine Vinegar
 
Preparation:

1. Place the thick cut bacon in a large skillet.

2. Cook over medium-high heat until the bacon is evenly browned.

3. Cool, crumble, and set aside.

4. Toss together the broccoli, green onions, sunflower seeds, raisins, and bacon in a large bowl.

5. Mix together the mayonnaise, sugar, and red wine vinegar in a small bowl.

6. Toss the mixture with the vegetables to coat.

7. Cover, and chill for 1 hour before serving.

Bacon
For the best and easiest bacon to cook and display the best on the salad try baking it in the oven with a weight on it so that it doesn't curl.

Sunflower Seeds
If you don't have any sunflower seeds available try using sliced almonds. The salad still has the amazing flavor it did before just a little different almond flavor.
