BLT Salad

Yum! Yum! Yum! BLT that’s all I have to say. Bacon has got to be a favoriet of everyone and aded with delicious tomatoes and croutons you've got yourself one heck of a side salad. Make it bigger if you'd prefer to have it as an entree.
Ingredients -
1 Pound Bacon
3/4 Cup Mayonnaise
1/4 Cup Whole Milk
1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/8 Teaspoon Fresh Ground Black Pepper
Salt to Taste
1 Head Romaine Lettuce (rinsed, dried and shredded)
2 Large Tomatoes (chopped)
2 Cups Seasoned Salad Croutons
 
Preparation:

1. Place bacon in a large, deep skillet.

2. Cook over medium high heat and make sure to turn it frequently, until evenly browned.

3. Drain and crumble it and set aside.

4. In a blender or food processor, combine mayonnaise, milk, garlic powder and black pepper.

5. Blend until smooth.

6. Season the dressing with salt.

7. In a large bowl combine the lettuce, tomatoes, bacon and croutons.

8. Toss with dressing.

9. Serve immediately.

 


Cooking Tip
Low Fat Mayonnaise
If you want to save a few calories since there is a pound (yay!) of bacon try using low fat mayonnaise instead. I don’t recommend fat free. You don’t want to ruin this delicious salad. Also you can do the same with the milk.

Cooking Tip
Homemade Croutons
If you don’t have any croutons you can always make them yourself. Chop up some bread season it and stick it in either the toaster or the oven and bake it.
